Lessons from Competing in the 2018 Ironman Triathlon World Championships

with Dr. Brett Kessler

Gary enjoys taking things he learns outside the dental profession and then adapting and applying these concepts to dentistry.

This interview with his friend Dr. Brett Kessler is a very good example of this concept. Recently, Brett competed in the Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Kona, Hawaii! This was the 40th Anniversary competition of the Ironman Triathlon World Championships and Brett did extremely well. The Ironman Triathlon starts with a 2.4 mile open water swim, followed by a 112 mile bike race, followed by a full 26.2 mile marathon!

In this interview Gary and Brett discuss; Brett’s experience with substance abuse (alcohol and drugs) and recovery, the recent celebration of Brett’s 20 years of sobriety on October 21, 2018, Brett’s message and example of life after recovery, his true reason and driving force for competing in the 2018 Ironman Triathlon World Championships, the five important lessons Brett learned in training for and successfully competing in the 2018 Ironman Triathlon World Championships, which are;
